How changing your flooring can transform your home

After spending so much time at home over lockdown, we have all realised the importance of loving the space you are in. When it comes to redecorating or renovating your home though, flooring might not be the first thing that springs to mind. Yet a change of flooring can have a transformative effect on a room and totally change the way that you look at your home.

Changing the flooring if it looks tired, maybe to vinyl, laminate, or even a feature tile, can lift the whole room– although what you pay obviously depends on how big your floor space is, as well as the type of flooring you choose.

Choosing a light and bright neutral shade for your floors, whether soft beige carpets or marble effect vinyl, ensures your room feels spacious and airy – making it the perfect choice for smaller spaces.

“For depth and interest, use a combination of shades, such as classic white for ceilings and walls, ivory for paintwork, and beige for flooring,” says Rebecca Snowden, interior style advisor, Furniture Choice.

But even if you don’t want to overhaul your entire carpet or flooring, you can still spruce up a living space with some well-placed rugs.

Go for a colourful rug to add an abstract, modernist vibe, or, if you’ve got a really busy pattern going on, you might want to cover it with a more neutral rug.

You can try layering textures – wool, linen, corduroy, velvet – for a cocooning, comforting feel, using decorative rugs as ‘art work’ for the floor.

And what about your garden? Well sales of artificial turf rose considerably during lockdown, with fake grass appealing to those looking for a lower-maintenance garden or even just looking to brighten up a tired lawn. Artificial grass is particularly popular with families who find their lawn becomes ruined quickly with a lot of use- while artificial grass keeps fresh for longer.

Fortunately, you can find a huge range of inspirational flooring, rugs and artificial grass on offer at Dallas Carpets. So Don't Delay, Visit Dallas Carpets Today!
